If you could flavor your own pasta, what might you choose?
How about sun-dried tomato, fresh herb, mushroom, roasted garlic or spinach?
One of the Bluffton Farmers’ Market vendors, Alee Gratz-Collier, will have several of those options for sale most Saturdays.
Alee and her boyfriend, Mike Anderson, recently formed River Valley Pasta and each week create a fresh batch of their secret recipe for sale at the market.
“We started making it commercially four months ago,” said Alee. “Before that we experimented on different flavors, sharing with our friends.”
New to this year's Bluffton Fall Festival is a song-fest of sorts sponsored by the Bluffton Area Ministerial Association, according to Rev. Jeremy Manns, pastor or Emmanuel United Church of Christ.
"The Bluffton Area Ministerial Association (BAMA) will set up a tent on the lawn of the Presbyterian Church as a sign of our local faith communities coming together in worshiping God through song," he told the Icon.
Performances by musicians from Bluffton congregations will take place from 10 a.m. to noon.
Sometimes it’s the little things we do in life that have the most impact.
“New York Times” bestselling author, Nathan Whitaker, shared this message with Bluffton’s new students during Opening Convocation on Tuesday, Aug. 29.
“I think it’s easy for us to devalue what we do or say. That what we do isn’t going to impact anybody,” explained Whitaker, co-author of “Quiet Strength” the memoir of Super-Bowl winning coach Tony Dungy.
