News rules by the Ohio Medical, Dental and Nursing Boards go into effect this week for prescribers using opioids to treat acute pain. The provisions of the new rules are designed to address overprescribing of opioid medications to reduce possible abuse and diversion.
Gary Wetherill will present a program on Indian toys during the 6 p.m., Monday, Sept. 11, Bluffton Senior Citizen Association dinner meeting, according to Tonya Meyer, Center director.
Tickets must be purchased by Wednesday, Sept. 6, at $8 each. Mt. Cory Eastern Star will cater the meal. Basil Meyer is the program MC.

The Beavers combined a tremendous hitting performance with a sterling defensive effort to deliver a three-set sweep of the Wheaton Thunder (25-19, 29-27, 25-17).
BLUFFTON, Ohio - The Bluffton University men’s and women’s cross country teams opened their 2017 season Friday evening as the hosts of the “Back to the Nature Preserve Invitational”. Starting as a small, under-race -distance event in 2011, this opening season meet has grown in to a competitive field of 10 to 11 teams, featuring top NCAA Division II, III and NAIA teams from the surrounding area and beyond.
OBERLIN, Ohio - The Bluffton University women's soccer team gave up just one tally late in the first half before Oberlin caught fire in the second stanza en route to the 7-1 victory on Sunday, Sept. 3. The Yeowomen stayed perfect at 2-0 while Bluffton slipped to 0-2 on the season.
