BLUFFTON, Ohio - The Bluffton University men's soccer team and its fans saw a little bit of everything with regards to the weather as Asbury College posted a 9-1 win over the Beavers at their home opener. Clouds, rain, cold, wind and finally with the match complete, the sun came out to cap off the home opener for Bluffton on Wednesday, Sept. 6.

Informal time of remembering and fellowship on Sept. 16

A private burial for Willadene Hartzler Keeney formerly of Bluffton, will take place on  Saturday, Sept. 16.

Following the burial there will be a gathering at First Mennonite Church Fellowship Hall, Bluffton, from 1-4 p.m. for friends and family. Family members invite persons to attend for an informal time of remembering and fellowship.

Willadene died on June 13, 2017 in North Newton, Kansas. For her complete obituary click here.

Bluffton Child Development Center, 325 County Line Road, Bluffton, has released its fiscal year 2018 Child and Adult Care Food Program income eligibility guildelines for free and reduced price meals.

These prices are effective July 1, 2017, through June 30, 2018, according to Francine Donathan, director.

The attached chart lists the information.

Tickets are now on sale for a “Let’s Be Civil” 91-by-103-inch quilt with proceeds going to St. John’s United Church of Christ local missions, which include the Bluffton Community Assistance Program food pantry.

The quilt was assembled by Connie Kempf and machine quilted by Forever In Stitches of Bluffton.

The quilt is created with Civil War-era fabrics, appearing as stars and Irish Chains. 

Tickets are six for $5 or 1 for $1. Persons wanting tickets may contact St. John’s UCC at 419-358-5641 or Kempf at 419-358-5173.

The drawing takes place on Jan. 2, 2018.

Eli Okuley, a Bluffton eighth grader received numerous awards at the Allen County Fair. He is a member of the Bunny Boosters 4-H Club.
