Madison Soper, Sydney Staton, Icon student artists of the month

Two Bluffton High School seniors who are putting together the class of 2017 graduation slide show, are the Icon's artists of the month.

The students are Sydney Staton and Madison Soper.

She has taken Photography I and Photography II as her art classes at BHS.

"Next year, I plan to go to Bluffton University and major in Mathematics and minor in Computer Science. I also plan to play soccer for Bluffton, in the fall," she said about next year's school plans.

What sound does the letter "D" make? That's the question to this alphabet game being played with students at Bluffton Child Development Center.

University's weekend celebration concludes with commencement

Bluffton University will celebrate its annual May Day weekend of festivities this weekend.

May Day weather plan!
Due to the forecast of flooding rains through Saturday, the May Day ceremony will be held inside Founders Hall on Saturday, May 6. The ceremony will begin at 1:30 p.m.

Bluffton HS tennis singles players are paired in the Division II tennis sectionals set for May 11 and 13. Justin Haggard is the number 1 seed in the sectional.

In the opening rounds:
Justin Haggard vs. Conner Cary, Leipsic
Ryan Sprague vs. Jeff Kauman, Ottawa-Glandorf
Trevor Bunch vs. Austin Stahr, Bath

Division II sectional matches are played at Univerity of Northwestern Ohio, Lima.

Bluffton High School’s boys’ tennis team toppled two worthy opponent in recent matches, beating Archbold 3-2 and Wauseon by the same score.

Bluffton stood 11-1 overall after the wins. Archbold fell to 10-2. Wauseon’s record was not available.

3rd singles – Trevor Bunch, 6-0, 6-0
1st doubles – Levi Mikesell/Jeret Geiser, 0-6, 1-6
2nd doubles – Tad Steiner/Jake Staley, 4-6, 7-5

Bluffton High School’s softball team completed dominated its most recent three opponents.

The Pirates stopped Riverdale 12-2, Lima Central Catholic 12-2 and Delphos Jefferson 14-4.

Libby Schaadt, BHS pitcher, is now 12-5 on the season. Bluffton’s box scores are attached.
