Registration now underway

Bluffton Family Recreation is accepting registrations for U6 spring soccer and NFL flag football, according to Amy Byers, sports director.

U6 Soccer
Date: April 3 to May 10
Tuesdays and Thursdays 6-7 p.m.
4-to-6-year-old boys and girls
$30 registration fee for members
$60 registration fee for non-members
Deadline to register: March 18

Glendoris L. Van Waning, 91, died Jan. 28, 2018, at Lima Memorial Health System. Glendoris was born April 6, 1926, in Bluffton to the late Loren and Nellie (Wood) Althaus.  On Oct. 28, 1945, she married John W. Van Waning who preceded her in death on Oct. 17, 1988.

Glendoris was a homemaker and was a member of Lafayette United Methodist Church.  She enjoyed going to Lakeside, playing cards and horses.

Landen Luginbuhl finished second and James Badial-Luna fourth in their respective classes to lead the Bluffton wrestling team this weekend at the LCC Thunderbird Invitational.  As a team, the Pirates finished 18th out of 46 competing teams. (complete story at www.blufftonpirates.com)

The American Red Cross will hold a blood drive at First Mennonite Church, Bluffton, on Thursday, Feb. 8, from 1-6 p.m. 

To schedule your blood donation appointment, call 1-800-RED-CROSS or go to redcrossblood.org, sponsor code “fmenncbl.”

Soup, sandwiches and cookies will be available for donors.

First Mennonite is located at 101 S. Jackson St., Bluffton. Donors should enter by the Jackson Street entrance directly across from Bluffton Elementary School. An elevator is located at that entrance.
