We understand that opening day for baseball in Cincinnati is an unofficial holiday in that city.
The Icon stringer, Anne Steiner of Cincinnati, did like most people in the Queen City. She took the day off She also and took photos of the 98th annual opening day parade.
The parade had 189 entries including lots of famous faces! Reds Hall-of-Famer Sean Casey was the parade Grand Marshal.
Cincinnati lost to Philadelphia in the season opener 4-3.

Spring Storytime continues on April 3, 10, 17, and 24 at 6:30 p.m., or April. 4, 11, 18, and 25 at 10 a.m. Storytime is for preschool children (ages 3 to 5), and registration is required. Susan L. Schlumbohm, 60, died April 4, 2017, at the Lima Memorial Inpatient Hospice Unit. Sue was born July 25, 1956, in Glandorf, Ohio, to Gregory and Patricia (Schroeder) Hovest. On Sept. 23, 1978, she married John Schlumbohm who survives.

Officers responded to a non-injury traffic crash in the 600 block of Bentley Road. Larry R. Harper, 62, Johnson City, Tennessee, was issued a citation for improper starting and backing. The case is pending in Lima Municipal Court.
Yesterday the Icon posted a photo of some of the members of the Bluffton HS girls' track team at the start of a warm-up race. Today we show some of the boys' team in the same warm-up.
