In 2008, as a senior on the Bluffton High School softball team, she pitched eight winning games in a row – including one no-hitter, although she can’t recall the number of total wins she earned that season on the Pirate team coached by Dan Gillette.
She attended college in Ada as an eventual Ohio Northern University pharmacy grad.

From Jan. 16 through Feb. 24 BFR offers free fitness, physical activity, nutrition and general wellness events for youth through seniors, according to Joseph Beagle, BFR director.
The Board of Trustees of Bluffton Public Library announced its meeting schedule for 2017.
Meetings are the fourth Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the library's Board Room at 145 S. Main St., Bluffton. No meetings will take place in July or December.
Board members are Elizabeth Hostetler, president; Bob Beer, vice president; Carrie Phillips, secretary; Amy Lehman-Mikesell, Robert Scott, Emily VonStein and Nancy Yeager.
Saturday, Jan. 21, is National Popcorn Day and Shirley'ls Gourmet Popcorn Co., is all set for the event, according to Pete Suter.
