Bluffton Public Library offers free one-on-one tech tutoring sessions on Wednesdays by appointment.

These sessions happen every other month and cover the basics of navigating laptops, PCs, smart phones, tablets, Microsoft Office, or obtaining eBooks free through the Ohio Digital Library by way of the Overdrive app.

Why order out when you can make it yourself?

Have you ever craved sweet and sour shrimp so much that you decided to try creating it from scratch?

Be prepared for a pleasant surprise. We did. It worked.

It worked so well we made it again. Like most surprises, it’s easier to create than you think. The second time is even easier.

In fact, our recipe, from start to sit down, goes faster than ordering and waiting for the delivery. And you don’t have to tip.

Here goes:

Swimming, rookie sports, basketball, tiny tots, open play

Several January and February programs for youth get underway soon at Bluffton Family Recreation, according to Joseph Beagle, director. Classes start the week of Jan. 8.

Here’s the class update:
Rookie sports - Tuesdays, 4:15-5 p.m.
For ages 4-6, youngsters will play a variety of sports
Tennis – Call BFR for more details.

K-3 basketball - Thursdays, 3:30-4:30 p.m.
For youth from Kindergarten, first, second and third grades

Tickets for Jan. 28 performance now on sale

Popular entertainer Ben Vereen will perform to The Freed Center, Biggs Theatre on the Ohio Northern University campus in one performance at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 28. Tickets are now on sale in Freed Center box office.

Few entertainers today are as accomplished or as versatile as Vereen. His  performances on stage and screen transcend time and have been woven into the fabric of our country’s artistic legacy.

On Broadway, Vereen has appeared in Wicked, Fosse, I’m Not Rappaport, Hair, Jesus Christ Superstar, Pippin, Grind, Jelly’s Last Jam and A Christmas Carol.
