The Ada Area Chamber of Commerce named the Ada Icon as its 2016 Outstanding Business/Industry of the Year at the chamber’s Feb. 17, annual dinner meeting. Ada Icon is the sister publication of Bluffton Icon.
Deb Curlis, chamber president presented the award to Icon owners Fred and Mary Steiner, during the dinner at McIntosh Center on the ONU campus.
The Icon also received a certificate of commendation from the Ohio Secretary of State’s office area representative, Brian Bauman.

RICHMOND, Ind. - The Bluffton University men’s basketball team took to the road for a meeting with the Earlham College Quakers on Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2016. Backed by a career-high 32 points from junior guard AUSTIN ROHDE (Shelby), the Beavers came out victorious by a score of 80-70. The win pushed Bluffton to 12-12 for the season (7-10 HCAC), while Earlham dropped to 2-22 overall (1-16 HCAC).
A few openings remain in Bluffton Center for Entrepreneurs website basics workshop planned from noon to 1:30 p.m., Friday, Feb. 19.
Ryan Lowry of Bluffton leads the workshop. A second workshop, takes place on Friday, Feb. 26. The sessions are in the BCE office, 110 S. Main St., Bluffton.
Both workshops cover the same information. These are offered on different dates to accommodate more participants.
Bluffton artist Judith Greavu, associate professor emeritus in art at Ohio Northern, is the winner of the 2016–17 Ocala, Florida, Outdoor Sculpture Competition.
Her winning sculpture, titled “Tri Bio, was installed last week in Tuscawilla Park in Ocala.
The competition received over 100 entries from across North America. A selection jury comprised of local community and art organization representatives selected only 10 artists to advance in the competition and travel to Tuscawilla Park for a 20-month exhibit in honor of the park’s centennial anniversary.
