 The American Red Cross of Hancock County is opening an emergency shelter for the residents of a Findlay building following a fire on Friday evening. 

The shelter is located at 50 North, 339 E. Melrose Avenue in Findlay. 

Residents of 223 ½ N. Main St. were driven from their homes by the fire, which began around 6 p.m. Friday evening.

Bluffton High School girls' powerlifting team finished third at a Jan. 23 meet at Kenton Ridge, according to Kelly Prichard, coach. Several boys also completed, but did not have enough members for a team. Boys' results at the bottom.

 The Bluffton Senior Center has a full line up of trips schedule for 2016, including Pennsylvania, Alaska and the Yukon, and Roscoe Village, according to Tonya Meyer, Center director.

On June 8 and 9, the motor coach will head out of town to go on an overnight trip to Coshocton to visit Roscoe Village. The trip will include a canal boat ride and three meals as well as overnight accommodations.

The Village of Bluffton’s Maple Grove Cemetery trustee board will meet Monday, Jan. 25, at 7 p.m. in the town hall, according to Nancy Kindle, village fiscal officer.
