The Pandora United Methodist Church Choir will present their Christmas cantata, “Were You There on That Christmas Night?” by Lloyd Larson on Sunday, Dec. 13 at 9:30 a.m. during the worship service.
The church service, followed by refreshments in the fellowship hall, are open to the public. The choir is directed by Pat Basinger and accompanied by Kira Davis. The church is located on State Route 12 at 108 E. Washington Street in Pandora. Rev. Duane Kemerley is the pastor.
Christmas For Kids will be held at Trinity Lutheran School, 105 Allen Street, Jenera, on Sunday, Dec. 6 from 1:30-4:30 p.m. The afternoon will provide children in preschool through fourth grade an opportunity to hear the message of Christmas, along with Christmas crafts, music, refreshments and fun. L. Frances (Fran) Buroker, 96, formerly of Mount Victory, Ohio, died at 12:49 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2015, at Mennonite Memorial Home in Bluffton.
Fran was born May 25, 1919, in Hardin County, Ohio, to William and Maedene (Carr) Dyer. On June 15, 1940, she married Erven W. Buroker, who preceded her in death on Oct. 16, 1998. They were married for 58 years.
Ernest Fritschi, 89, died Nov. 27, 2015, at 11:45 p.m., at Richland Manor, Bluffton.
Ernest was born Oct. 18, 1926, in Reigoldswil, Canton Basel, Switzerland to Ernst and Hulda (Kleiber) Fritschi who preceded him in death. On Nov. 11, 1955 he married Ruth Winkleman Fritschi who preceded him in death on Aug. 15, 2015.
Ernest had worked as an auto mechanic and later retired from the Lima Ford Engine Plant.
