Icon viewers may not think of J.D. Yoder of Bluffton as a football coach - or one whose team has already defeated Notre Dame - but both statements are true.

Yoder, professor and chair of mechanical engineering at Ohio Northern University, Ada, "coaches" students from ONU's T.J. Smull College of Engineering. 

Alex Hord is the March Bluffton High School student of the month. He is the son of Rebecca Oaks of Bluffton and Tim Hord of Findlay,  is a senior at BHS and has a g.p.a. of 3.920.

Alex is a member of Latin Club, Math Club, National Latin Honors Society, National Honor Society, and is in the Student Senate. He volunteers for Youth For Christ during the week and is involved with his church youth group.

Danrell Boddie (Professor Harold Hill), attempts to court Marian Paroo (Emma Burkholder) in the upcoming production of "The Music Man." The churches of Pandora and Gilboa are offering food boxes for households in the Pandora-Gilboa School District. The boxes are designed to provide nine meals for a family of four. In order to pick up a box, you must register by calling 419-384-3038 by 5 p.m. Wednesday, April 15. Boxes will be available to be picked up at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 11 at Grace Mennonite Church, 502 East Main Street, Pandora.

BLUFFTON, Ohio - The Bluffton University baseball team fell behind early against the Defiance College Yellow Jackets on Tuesday, March 31, but prevailed thanks to a three-run second inning. Bluffton improved to 14-6 on the season and a conference-best 7-1 in the HCAC, while Defiance is now 8-8 overall and 3-5 in the HCAC following the 5-3 Beaver victory.
