Students in the Bluffton Child Development Center pre-kindergarten class have a good laugh over a funny book being read to them.

Registration continues for the second annual Be A Beaver Triathlon, to be held Saturday, May 30, in Bluffton.

Participants may register at www.3disciplines.com; cost is $60 for individuals and $100 for relay teams, comprised of three people doing one event each and scoring as a team.

Bluffton University will recognize its top student-athletes at the annual Athletics Awards Forum, at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 14, in Yoder Recital Hall. The event is free and open to the public.

Two awards will be presented. Bluffton’s top senior male athlete will receive the A.C. Burcky Award, while the top senior female athlete will receive the Kathryn E. Little Award.

The Bluffton University art department will present its annual Juried Student Exhibition from April 14-28 in the Grace Albrecht Gallery in Sauder Visual Arts Center. The exhibition, which is free and open to the public, will showcase work created this academic year by students in university art classes or supervised independent studies.

Gallery hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays and 1-5 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.

Bluffton University music students Renee Kindle, Meagan Palte, Brittney Ries and Samuel Stucky will present their junior recital at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, April 12, in Yoder Recital Hall. The event is free and open to the public; a reception will follow in the lobby.

Bluffton University will host the annual Riley Creek Festival from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 11, in the Sommer Center.

Open to the public, the event is free except for lunch, which costs $9 for community members.

The festival will feature family-friendly inflatables, a balloon artist, music, games and other activities, concluding with the traditional rubber duck race on Riley Creek. Rubber ducks will be sold for $1 each, with proceeds to benefit the Allen County Humane Society. Duck race winners will receive prizes donated by local businesses.
