Dr. Adam Schattschneider, professor of music at Bluffton University, will discuss several projects he undertook during a 2012-13 sabbatical at a March 28 campus colloquium.

His presentation, “Woodwinds and the World Wide Web,” is free and open to the public beginning at 4 p.m. that Friday in Yoder Recital Hall.

The Christian story isn’t about collecting the right set of beliefs, or obeying God’s “do’s and don’ts,” or trying to be a “good person,” an Oregon pastor told a Bluffton University audience March 18.

Instead, said Meghan Good, it has to do with turning around and seeing who’s always there.

The Friends of the Bluffton Public Library will be hosting their annual Spring Tea at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday, April 10, at the library.

 

The speaker will be Judy Clemens, author of the Stella Crown and Grim Reaper mystery series and the book Lost Sons. 

Tickets, which must be purchased in advance, are $12 and are available at the library.

Morgen Stiegler and her band will perform a concert of vintage swing and jazz at the next Town Hall Concert, at 8 p.m., Friday, April 4, according to Wendy Chappell-Dick. The public is invited and will be asked to make a donation for the musicians.

Northwest Ohio has become familiar with Stiegler through her appearance on Portraits in Swing as well as live performances on PBS.

STRING PERFORMANCES

The Swiss Community Historical Society presents a Sunday, March 30, program devoted to the care of family historic photographs, albums and paper documents.

The program, open to the public, held in the Patio Room of Maple Crest Senior Living Comunity, begins at 1:30 p.m. for refreshments, music, and social time. The formal program is at 2 p.m.
