"Ciao America" next library book discussion

Bluffton Public Library will host a discussion of Beppe Severgnini's book "Ciao America" at Common Grounds Coffeehouse & Caf'e at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 25.

Severgnini is an Italian journalist who has written a story about moving from Italy to live in the United States for one year. "Ciao America" is his humorous take on the American lifestyle.

Everyone knows this couple, especially if you bowl

You don't have to study this photo very long to recognize Jim and Joan Dailey. The Bluffton couple is among residents featured on the new Oscar Velasquez mural. Work on the mural is in process this summer on the Forever In Stitches building on Main Street.

University artist series offers wide assortment of entertainment; tickets on sale Aug. 2

The Massenkoff Russian Folk Festival

Tickets go on sale Monday, Aug. 2, for the 2010-11 Bluffton University Artist Series, featuring performers from Cleveland to Croatia and sights and sounds from Russian to percussion.

WIC and Lima parks hold "walk in the park" Aug. 7

The Allen County WIC office and Lima Parks and Recreation Department will hold a "Walk in the Park," in August, according to Lori Nester.

The event is from 10 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Aug. 7, at Faurot Park shelter house number 2, in Lima.

The activity is in celebration of World Breastfeeding Week.

Participants may take a stroll around the one-quarter mile path, visit displays and information tables of a variety of organizations and businesses that serve families.
