Lindsay Steiner part of Kent State workshop planning team
Lindsay Steiner, a 2001 Bluffton High School graduate, and a doctoral candidate in Literacy, Rhetoric and Social Practice at Kent State University, is part of a planning team for a three-day workshop: Kent Education Excellence Partnership (KEEP) Language Arts Academy: A Focus on the Common Core.
The workshop is held at Hudson High school Aug. 7, 8, and 9. This is professional development designed for and by English/Language Arts teachers from local school districts in partnership with Kent State University English and Teacher Education faculty.
The KEEP Language Arts Academy is funded through the Martha Holden Jennings Foundation in conjunction with the Kent Education Excellence Partnership.
Steiner is part of the planning team for the Academy, and has been working primarily with high school grade teachers (9-12). She will lead two mini-sessions: one on using Audacity in the classroom and one on visual rhetoric.
In addition, Steiner has given presentations on the Ohio Transfer Module, the objectives and requirements for College Writing classes at Kent State, and syllabi/assignments for College Writing courses.
