Bluffton senior’s recital to feature his music
Saxophonist Scott Troyer will present his Bluffton University senior recital—including two of his compositions—at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 3, in Yoder Recital Hall.
The recital is free and open to the public; a reception will follow in the lobby.
Troyer, from Sugarcreek, Ohio, will perform six numbers on alto and soprano saxophone, including his “Polyphony for Saxophone Trio” and “A Prayer (Through every minute).” Joining him in the saxophone trio will be Dr. Adam Schattschneider, a professor of music and Troyer’s instructor, and Bluffton junior Chelsey Parker.
Accompanying him on “A Prayer” will be Bluffton’s Camerata Singers, conducted by Dr. Mark J. Suderman, also a professor of music, and the solo quartet of students Bethany Babcock, Jonathan Luginbill, Kaitlyn Leopold and Neil Macke.
Pianists Anya Stembler-Smith and Allison Ringold will also accompany Troyer during the recital. It is presented in partial fulfillment of his requirements for graduation with a major in music education and music, with a concentration in performance.
