Deadlines approaching for spring BFR sport leagues
Flag Football
BFR is a partner of the NFL Flag Football program and will offer a Spring league beginning the week of March 31. The NFL Flag program includes a weekly practice plus one scrimmage on Saturday mornings. Individual registration for youth in grades K-6 will continue through March 14. Participants must register online at www.nflflag.com/player/form as well as submit payment to BFR. Cost per player is $50 ($35 BFR members) and includes an NFL© jersey and flags. Volunteer coaches will be used and they will follow the NFL training curriculum.
Soccer
The Spring Outdoor Soccer League for U6 age players will begin April 8. Players must have been under age 6 on August 1, 2013 or over the age of 4 on December 1, 2013. The U6 Soccer league meets on Tuesday and Thursday nights from 6-7 p.m. The program includes team-based drills and scrimmages; all activities are held on the BFR outdoor fields. Cost per participant is $40 ($20 BFR members) and includes a team t-shirt. Deadline for registration is March 28.
Volleyball
The Developmental Youth Volleyball League will begin April 12 for girls in grades 4, 5, and 6. Players register individually and then are assigned to mixed age teams. Teams will practice one day per week and matches will be held on Saturdays. An assessment day for new and returning players will be held on Sat. April 12. Match dates will be April 26 through May 24. Cost per participant will be $50 ($30 BFR members) and registration is open until April 12.
