Elinor Laing 1941-2015
Elinor M. Laing, 74, died 9 p.m. Oct. 14, 2015, at Shawnee Manor, Lima. Elinor was born Jan. 3, 1941 in Dola to Lloyd and Mary Neil Kindle. On July 3, 1959, she married Edward Laing and he preceded her in death on Sept. 12, 1985.
Elinor worked at several area restaurants. She was a graduate of Dola High School.
Survivors include her father and step-mother, Lloyd and Luella Kindle of Coleman, Mich., her long time companion, Bob Plaugher of Lima, six children, Jackie (Ted) Davis of Lima, Julie (Andy) Martinez of Findlay, Jeffrey (Linda) Laing of Bluffton, Jon (Jenelle) Laing of Lafayette, Steve (Dani) Laing of Columbus Grove, Joe Laing of Lima, 16 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, a sister, Judy (Daryl) Shinkle of Phoenix, Ariz., and a brother-in-law Bill Newman of Dola. She was preceded in death by her mother, and a sister, Nancy Newman.
Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 19, at Chiles-Laman Funeral and Cremation Services, Bluffton. William Herr will officiate.
Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Bluffton.
Friends may call from 1-5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Assoc. or to the family. Online condolences may be expressed at www.chiles-lamanfh.com
