Engineering firm submits application for $2.3 million in safety funding
Choice One Engineering has submitted a $2.3 million application for safety funding money in the on-going State Route 103 corridor safety study, according to Joe Sehlhorst, Bluffton council member.
On Monday night Sehlhorst updated council members of the Sept. 7 discussions that took place in a council streets, lights and alleys committee meeting. Choice One Engineering, Sydney, created a safety study of the 103 corridor for the village.
In July the firm estimated it would take $10.4 million to solve the corridor’s safety issues. For more details on that study click here.
Sehlhorst said that the study was among eight topics of the Sept. 7 meeting.
The committee also discussed:
• Sidewalk connectivity
• AEP updates
• 2018 street paving schedule
• Village property next to Mustard Seed Café
• Extending lighting on Main Street
• Parkview Pathway connector
• Food truck ordinance
The attachment to this story includes the minutes from the committee meeting. Those minutes reflect additional information discussed on the eight topics discussed.
