ArtSpace/Lima hosts annual Kewpee high school art show
ArtSpace/Lima will host the 30th Annual Kewpee High School Art Invitational from Feb. 23 to April 7, according to Bill Sullivan, operations manager.
The exhibit, which will feature cash awards, includes works in various categories, including sculpture, ceramics, photography, painting, digital media, printmaking, mixed media, jewelry, and drawing.
Harry Shutt and the Kewpee Restaurants of Lima, sponsor the show as they have since its inception more than a quarter century ago.
The year 22 area high schools are represented in the upcoming exhibit with 290 students entering 395 pieces and 101 works by 88 students accepted into the exhibit.
Jurors for the exhibit were Anita Lehman, Studio Artist, Lima City Schools Art Teacher, Retired, and Laura Barnhardt Corle, Studio Artist, Adjunct Faculty, University of Findlay.
An opening reception will be held on Friday, Feb. 23 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Kewpee hamburgers and cheeseburgers will be served at the reception, as well as tastes of Februcherry pie. Awards will be presented at 7:15 p.m.
ArtSpace/Lima is a not-for-profit arts organization with a mission to promote the arts in northwest Ohio and to provide artists with a venue to present and sell their work.
