Third lane in service on Bentley Road

Now you get the picture!
It's an eight-foot wide, 0.9 mile lane for pedestrians and biker on Bentley Road between Augsburger and the bridge near Kibler Street.
Village employees painted a third lane on the road on Tuesday morning.
The Lions Way Bentley path connects to the previously constructed Augsburger path. And, the pathway continues along Kibler Street connecting to Lions Way Parkview pathway, exiting at Main Street.
This means, with the completion of the Bentley Road leg of the pathway, persons can walk or bike from Maple Crest-Riverbend all the way to Main Street at the Dari Freeze.
Construction on the Bentley Road Pathway began May 7. A dedication and ribbon cutting will take place later this fall.
The next pathway segment will connect Elm-Augsburger to Riley Street.
Background on the project
In 2009, the Bluffton Lions Foundation partnered with the Village of Bluffton to fund and develop a comprehensive pathway plan. A seven-member board of community leaders was appointed to implement the approved plan with the Foundation serving as the non-profit agency for awareness building and support.
The project is 100% volunteer-driven with the Bluffton Pathways Board providing project management and the Bluffton Lions Foundation serving as the fiscal agent.
