Whopper leaves Bluffton
Bluffton is no longer the home of the Whopper.
Burger King, 499 State Route 103, closed its doors on Sunday and will not reopen. On Wednesday the signage from the Bluffton restaurant was being removed.
Tony Kropowski, Carrol’s district manager, confirmed the restaurant closed but did not provide the Icon with any additional information.
The restaurant owner, Carrols Corp., housed in Syracuse, New York, owns and operates over 1,000 restaurants under the Burger King brand, according to its website.
Burger King is the second restaurant at the State Route 103 – Interstate 75 exit to close. KFC, 415 State Route 103, closed in 2014. In November 2015, Li Co Chinese and Italian Restaurant, opened in the former KFC building. That restaurant closed in 2018 and is now vacant.
