Dunkin' Donuts coming to Bluffton
One for certain and two development discussions.
Jesse Blackburn, village administrator reported plans for a Dunkin’ Donuts restaurant to go into the former Burger King restaurant at 499 State Route 103.
The announcement was part of the administrator’s report during the July 27 Bluffton council meeting. The new owners plan to raze the Burger King building beginning Aug. 3 and replace it with a new structure by mid-November. Watch the Icon developments on this project.
Minutes from the Village Planning Commission, which met on July 16, were also shared at the meeting. Two topics were part of that meeting and the minutes are visible at the bottom of this story.
The commission’s discussion centered on a zoning district along the west side of Norfolk Southern Railroad between Jefferson Street and College Avenue.
Blackburn told commission members of a group that has considered placing a butcher shop in the former Riley Creek Mercantile building at 246 Cherry Street.
The commission also learned of a potential development of property fronting North Bentley between West Elm and Garmatter. Those plans showed five condominium units, with each unit designed for two families, adding 10 new residential units to the proposed development.
No action was reported on either topics by the commission.
