By Cort Reynolds
PERRYSBURG - The visiting Bluffton boys soccer team and highly-ranked Div. I foe Perrysburg battled to a 2-2 tie Thursday night.
The Pirate record is now 4-0-1. Perrysburg (2-3-2) was ranked sixth in the first Div. I NWOSSCA regional poll last week.
Bluffton's Collin Oglesbee got the Pirates on the scoreboard first with a goal in the eighth minute via an assist from Jonathan Schriner.
Perrysburg knotted it 1-1 four minutes later on a penalty kick goal by Gabe Pawlicki.
Pirate senior Schriner put the visitors back on top 2-1 on a goal in the 36th minute off a pass from Simon Derstine.
But just a minute later, the Yellow Jackets tied it again on a goal by Chase Nitschke.
Neither team scored in the defensive second half.
Bluffton put eight of its 16 shots on goal. Perrysburg took 14 shots, nine of which were on goal.
Pirate senior keeper Nic Essinger was credited with seven saves, while Yellow Jacket goalie Luke Price made six saves.
