Carol Vermillion was born in Bluffton
Carol J. Vermillion, 88, of Gibsonburg, Ohio, died Monday, May 10, 2021, at Toledo Hospital. She was born Jan. 28, 1933, in Bluffton, Ohio, the daughter of Leland and Ruth (Andrews) Sechler.
Carol owned and operated Village Hair Fashions in Gibsonburg for 43 years.
In 1985 she became a cosmetology instructor at Sentinel Vocational School in Tiffin where she was affectionately known as “Mrs. V” to her students. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Gibsonburg, the American Legion Auxiliary, Women of Zion, an avid bowler, a talented water-skier, and a lover of animals.
Among survivors are daughters: Connie (Dennis) Emrich, Linda Merrill and Marcella (Bruce) Hickman all of Fremont.
Grandchildren: Jasmine Emrich, Ashley Boich, Cori Eishen, Emili Mick, Nick Kreilick, Carrie Garcia, Austin Miller, Jason Vermillion, Josh Vermillion and Justin Vermillion, 24 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, sister June Hicks, husband Lloyd Vermillion, her companion in later years, Horace Smith, son-in-law Tim Merrill, first husband Jack Manoylovich, great-great-grandson Ezekiel Wade and longtime best friend, Judy Jackson.
Visitation will take place on Friday, May 14, from 4-7 p.m. at Herman-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Crematory, 900 North St., Fremont, Ohio.
Masks are required for all services the funeral home, social distancing measures will be in place.
Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home, where additional visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at West Union Cemetery in Gibsonburg.
