Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio donates $5,000 to Lions for playground
MEDIA RELEASE—Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio (MHCO) is pleased to announce a charitable contribution of $5,000 to the Bluffton Lions Club in support of the development of Legacy Park, a new intergenerational and handicap-accessible community park designed for residents of all ages and abilities.
Legacy Park will serve as a welcoming, inclusive space where children, families, older adults, and individuals with mobility challenges can all come together for recreation, connection, and community-building. The park’s thoughtful design will feature accessible pathways, adaptive play equipment, gathering areas, and outdoor wellness opportunities for people of all generations.
President and CEO, John Warner said, “We are grateful to be a part of Bluffton and appreciate the work of the Lions Club throughout the community. When we heard of their project to raise support for a new intergenerational, all-abilities playground at Legacy Park we were glad to help. We believe in the benefits of intergenerational activities and making those opportunities available to all. This playground will do exactly that and will be a wonderful addition to the Bluffton community for many years to come”.
The Bluffton Lions Club has spearheaded the playground initiative and continues to raise funds to make the project a reality. MHCO’s contribution will help advance key phases of construction and ensure the park’s inclusive features remain central to its design.
Legacy Park is expected to become a cornerstone of Bluffton’s public spaces, emphasizing accessibility, intergenerational engagement, and community wellbeing. Additional fundraising and community support continue to move the project toward completion.
