Pirate boys soccer ties Elida

BLUFFTON__The Bluffton High School boys soccer team tied visiting WBL foe Elida 1-1 in a non-league match at Steinmetz Field on Thursday, August 27.
The Pirates ran their record to 3-1-1 overall with the tie. Elida is now 0-1-1 after the result.
Bluffton’s Ashton Ungashick scored the Pirate goal with just nine seconds remaining in the first half. Chase Kelly assisted on the goal that broke a scoreless knot and gave the hosts a 1-0 edge at intermission.
But Elida tied the game at the 30:31 mark in the second half on a corner kick. Neither team was able to break the tie over the final 30 minutes.
Bluffton keeper Ryan Blount was credited with nine saves in goal for the match.
Bluffton will host Van Buren (3-1) on Tuesday at Steinmetz Field.
