BFR Sports & Fitness begins more summer programs for youth
Several youth programs are scheduled to begin at BFR in the next few weeks.
Beginning Tennis lessons, using the Quickstart method, and a
youth basketball camp are have deadlines this week.
A Red Cross Training Clinic for Youth Babysitters is scheduled for July 15 with pre-registration due by July 8.
Children interested in the summer T-ball League need to register by June 28. Later in the month, BFR will offer a one-day, Princess Camp on Wednesday, July 27 as well as a Gym & Swim program and Adventure Camp for pre-schoolers.
Youth, ages 6-9, are still welcome to join the summer Quickstart program. The beginner tennis program meets on Thursday nights
from 6-7:15 p.m. at the BHS courts. Six weeks remain in this skill and match-play program.
The Quickstart method is the USTA's recommended teaching format for younger children. The BFR program will include stations that the participants rotate through to develop stroke, rally
skills and on-the-court time.
By the end of the six weeks, players will spend more time on the court for match play on small sized courts. Cost for the sixe remaining sessions will be $38.50 ($28 BFR members). Contact BFR 419-358-4150 to register.
