Lots of activities for youth on Thursday in Bluffton
If Monday was Ladies' Day, then Thursday, June 30, must be Kid's Day. Bluffton sesquicentennial events continue with a schedule of events gears for youth planned.
Here's Thursday's schedule:
o10 a.m. to 2 p.m. - Children's activities planned in the Bluffton Presbyterian Church alley
o10 a.m. to 5 p.m. - Adult and children art and photo contest, also in the Presbyterian Church yard.
o2 to 4 p.m. - American Girl tea at the Bluffton Senior Citizens Center
Town hall activities
o1 p.m. - John Miles, "Native American" lecture
o2 p.m. - Dennis Morrison, "Bluffton artifacts" lecture
o7 p.m. - "Skeletons on the Sahara," movie presentation about Captain Riley; Dr. Darrell Groman, discussion leader. This movie is not recommended to youngsters.

oWill Triplett historical exhibit, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sauder Art Gallery, Bluffton University
oBluffton University historical exhibit, Musselman Library lobby, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m

Reminder about Friday and Saturday's "Bluffton Brand of Broadway"
After gathering together some of Bluffton's best musicians and vocalists, Pat Rodabaugh, representing the Bluffton Sesquicentennial Committee, is presenting "Bluffton's Brand of Broadway" at Yoder Hall at Bluffton University Friday and Saturday, July 1-2 at 7 p.m.
The show is free and includes selections from 15 Broadway musicals performed by local talent.Everett Collier, Kevin Gratz, Kara Gratz, Sandy Miller, Kristi and Phil Shey, David Sycks and Rachael Lewis are just a handful of the performers on the program, which also features two male quartets.
Just to whet your musical appetite, some of the numbers on the program are "Satin Doll," "Old Man River," "People Will Say We're in Love," "Give My Regards to Broadway," and "Yankee Doodle Dandy."
There will be something entertaining for all ages and musical tastes. The committee hopes that the community will enjoy the performance, which is set to end the week-long celebration of Bluffton's 150th birthday.
