Mary Ellen Nesler was a piano teacher
Mary Ellen Nesler, 97, passed away April 24, 2026, at The Manor at Greendale in Findlay.
Mary Ellen was born October 4, 1928, in Hancock County, to Edward and Lola (Elsea) Boehm who preceded her in death. On August 14, 1949, she married Raymond Nesler who preceded her in death on July 20, 2013.
Mary Ellen was a graduate of Findlay High School and of Capital University. She briefly worked for Water Works in Findlay after graduating college. She was a member St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Jenera. Over the years, she played the organ for Good Hope Church in Arlington, taught piano lessons and was a pianist for the Choralaires of Mt. Blanchard. She loved flea markets, antiquing, and playing her piano. She was proud of her chickens and enjoyed selling their eggs. In addition to playing music, she loved to cook and bake. Mary Ellen and Raymond both enjoyed spending time with their Amish friends.
She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Marsha (Steven – deceased) Nesler of Findlay; three grandchildren, Emily (Theodore Lange) Nesler of Burlington, VT, Kyle Nesler of Rawson, and Sarah (Jason) Starkey of Upper Sandusky; two step-great-grandchildren, Nathan and Sophia of Burlington, VT; daughter, Rebecca (Keith) McClelland of Findlay; and her close friends, Betty Kahler and Jo Brauneller.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mary Ellen was preceded in death by her son, Steven Nesler.
The Nesler family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at the Manor at Greendale and Care 360 Hospice for the extra special care they gave Mary Ellen. They would also like to thank Tom and Cheryl Pitney for their frequent visits that Mary Ellen treasured.
Services will be held Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at 11:00 am at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Jenera. Pastor Deborah Noll to officiate the service. Burial will be in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, Jenera following the service. Visitation will be on Monday, April 27, 2026, 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm at the church and one hour prior to the service at the church.
