Obituaries

Myron J. Youtsey, 89, died June 1, 2021, at the Mennonite Memorial Home, Bluffton.  Myron was born Feb. 8, 1932, in Van Wert to the late Clarence and Velma (Vance) Youtsey. On June 6, 1964, he married Gladys Peffley Youtsey who preceded him in death on Dec. 27, 2002.

Myron had worked at Lima Ford Engine Plant. He enjoyed NASCAR, the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Dallas Cowboys. Myron served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. During his time in the Air Force he successfully disarmed a bomb in an airplane saving his entire unit.

Jackie Williams, 72, died on Sunday, May 30, 2021, at 9:10 a.m. at his residence in Ada.

He was born on July 23, 1948, in Lima, Ohio, to the late Harry and Marguerite “Maggie” (McElroy) Williams.  Jackie was previously married to Melanie Jettinghoff.

Jackie retired from Durez in Kenton.  He was a U.S. Army veteran who served during the Vietnam War.  He was a life member and former post commander of the Ada VFW Post #9381.

Stanley Bohn, who served as pastor of First Mennonite Church, Bluffton, from 1968 to 1975, died May 19, 2021 at Kidron-Bethel Health Care, North Newton, Kansas.

He was born on Aug. 23, 1930, to Nora Malinda (Lantz) Bohn and Ernest J. Bohn in Tiskilwa, Illinois.

Stan married Anita May Pannabecker on Sept. 6, 1952, shortly after they graduated from Bluffton College.

Paula A. Augsburger, 67, died May 23, 2021, at Lima Memorial Health System.  Paula was born Feb. 5, 1954, in Bluffton, Ohio, to the late Gary and Ruth (White) Meeker. She had been married to Michael Augsburger.

Paula was a graduate of Elida High School and had been a housekeeper at Lima Memorial Health System. She attended the Christian Assembly Worship Center, Lima. Paula was an avid reader and enjoyed baking, crafting and most of all, spending time with her family. 

Was chief financial officer at Triplett Corp.

Former Bluffton mayor, James Porter King, 87, died May 16, 2021, at the Mennonite Memorial Home in Bluffton. Porter was born April 3, 1934, in Mt. Cory, Ohio, to the late Marco and Mamie (Smith) King. On May 6, 1953, he married Nancy Steinman King who survives.

Porter was a graduate of Cory-Rawson High School. He retired from Triplett Corporation, Bluffton, where he had been the chief financial officer. Porter was an avid stamp collector and was a University of Michigan fan, history and political buff and enjoyed golf. 

Carol J. Vermillion, 88, of Gibsonburg, Ohio, died Monday, May 10, 2021, at Toledo Hospital. She was born Jan. 28, 1933, in Bluffton, Ohio, the daughter of Leland and Ruth (Andrews) Sechler. 

Carol owned and operated Village Hair Fashions in Gibsonburg for 43 years.
