Two members of Bluffton High School's girls' basketball team won Northwest Conference honors. 

• Abbie Parkins, sophomore, was named to the NWC second team.
• Andie Schmutz, sophomore, was named NWC honorable mention  

Ada senior Tori Wyss was selected as the 2014-15 NWC Player of The Year in voting by Northwest Conference girls basketball coaches.

Somewhere between the 2016-17 and 2019-20 basketball seasons these guys will become household names in Bluffton. Right now they are Bluffton seventh graders. This season, the basketball team coached by Ryan Dunlap went 19-0, winning the Northwest Conference.

In an understatement, Dunlap told the Icon that this was a dream season. All Pirate fans are following that dream.

The Pandora-Gilboa Rockets eighth grade basketball team brought home the BVC Conference Championship title for the second year in a row.

The team, coached by P-G alumnus Nathan Lee, includes: back row, l-r, Coach Nathan Lee, Nick Norton, Nick Meyer, Jared Breece, Riley Larcom, Eli Stall, Austin Niese, Peyton Traxler, Travis Maag and Zeb George. Front row, cheerleaders, Kaileigh Morris, Macy Rieman, Sam Inbody and Brooke Meyer.

Bluffton High School boys' basketball team defeated Delphos Jefferson 64 to 56 at home on Friday. 

Bret Rumer lead all scorers with 19 points.

Don't tell Hannah Chappell-Dick to slow down.

The Bluffton HS grad, broke the five-minute barier for the first time as she charted a 4:56.37 in the mile at a recent USC Invitational. She runs indoor track for Eastern Mennonite University, Harrisonburg, Va.

In the race, she shattering her own school record of 5:05.65. The junior also sits at No. 4 in the nation this year with the time. She placed sixth at the meet, behind runners from Virginia Tech and North Carolina. 

Bluffton High School's boy's basketbal team doubled the score on Vanlue on Feb. 21. BHS won 75-34.
