After a slow first half that showed only one touchdown from Carey the fireworks were turned on in the second with six scores allowing the Pirates to take home the victory.

The only score of the first came a Zach Brodman four-yard run to put the game at 6-0.

Bluffton came out of half time throwing as Mitchell Ault got the Pirates on the board with a 54-yard pass to Levi Kistler.

Alec Yoder, grandson of Alan and Diann Yoder of Bluffton, and son of Mike and Rebecca Yoder of Indianapolis, Ind., continues to excel on the national stage in the sport of men’s gymnastics.

In May, Yoder, a sophomore at Northpoint Home School, competed in the U.S. Men’s Junior Elite National Championships in Portland, Ore., as a Level 10 elite gymnast.

OHSAA Board of Directors Meeting Highlights

The Ohio High School Athletic Association board of directors met Thursday for its regularly scheduled September meeting. The following are highlights from the meeting. The complete set of meeting minutes will be posted later at OHSAA.org.

-          The board reviewed the list of 30 schools that met the 2012-13 OHSAA Respect the Game Challenge. Eighteen of those schools also earned the Harold A. Meyer Award. The OHSAA will issue a separate release Friday with the list of schools and description of the awards.
