In late October Bluffton will hold an event with masks required and few participants are complaining.

Mayor Richard Johnson announced that trick-or-treating will take place in the village from 6 to 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 29.

Like most Ohio communities, Bluffton awaited the covid-19 guidelines from the governor’s office before making an announcement. That green light arrived last week.

ADA - The visiting Bluffton girls soccer team shut out Ada 5-0 on a wet Monday evening at the park as the Pirate girls clinched at least a tie for the Northwest Conference crown.

Bluffton improved to 8-2-1 overall and 6-0 in NWC play with their seventh consecutive win. Ada fell to 2-8 overall and 0-4 in NWC action with the defeat. 

Laykin Garmatter and Reagan Mittendorf each netted a pair of goals to pace the Pirate girls to victory.

BLUFFTON - The visiting Ada boys soccer team lost to undefeated Bluffton 7-0 Monday night at Steinmetz Field in a one-sided battle for first place in the Northwest Conference.

Five-time defending league champion Bluffton improved to 10-0-1 and 3-0 in the NWC (nine points) with the decisive win.

Ada fell to 6-4 overall and 3-1 in the Northwest Conference standings with nine points after the defeat.

Hilty Preschool and Child Care receives county foundation grant

The Hilty Preschool and Child Care was selected as one of the Putnam County Foundation's first grant recipients.

According to the new foundation, "Congratulations to the five non-profit organizations chosen to receive one of our first grants.

"We gave $500 to each of them to help with the recent struggles brought on by the pandemic. We are excited to help them and appreciate how they help our community.
