A nostalgic ride back to Estefan’s glory days

Icon music review: Brazil305 - Gloria Estefan

Reviewed by Craig Hoffman
Gloria Estefan released Brazil305 in August 2020. It is the fourteenth studio album by the three-time Grammy Award winning Cuban-American singer. It is also her first album since the 2013 release of Standards.

Estefan pioneered the first Latin pop explosion, paving the way for artists like Ricky Martin and Shakira. Her earlier works combined pop, R&B, salsa, and Latin funk with great success. It’s perfect timing for the album as Latin pop music is once more en vogue in the music world.

FROM ADA ICON - With basketball season just around the corner, Ada boys head coach Dre White surprisingly announced he was stepping down from his post after four seasons as Bulldog mentor this week.

"First and foremost I would like to thank Ken Jochims, the AD at the time I was hired, for taking a chance on a young coach back then," said White.

"Coaching here the last four seasons is an experience I will value and cherish," he continued. "It was not how I envisioned my time at Ada to conclude."
