Mosquito season: how to fight back

Ways to keep yourself and your family safe from mosquitoes

The number of illnesses caused by tick, mosquito and flea bites has more than tripled over 12 years, according to the CDC. But there are ways to keep yourself safe.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), more than 640,000 cases of these illnesses were reported from 2004 through 2016.

Meet Bluffton Farmers Market vendors

Bluffton Farmers Market is the place to be on Saturday mornings in town. According to the Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce, our town "boasts the best farmers market in northwest Ohio." 

In celebration of our small but mighty farmers market, the Icon will be featuring a market vendor each week over the course of the summer.

This week's feature vendor is SugarCreek Baked Goods.

Village reviewing all parking restrictions in Bluffton

Ordered four radar speed identification signs

Permit parking and permissive license plate tax are two subjects addressed this month by the Bluffton council’s street, light, alley and sidewalk committee.

Meeting on June 27, Joe Sehlhorst and Jerry Cupples, committee members, with Jesse Blackburn and Bryan Lloyd of the village, discussed those subjects and others:
• Permit parking
• Combined sidewalk and curbs
• 2019 capital improvement budget
• Permissive license plate
• Radar speed identification signs
