Amended sidewalk ordinances passes; toned-down version intends to "connect" sidewalk gaps in the village

Ordinance 03-14, the most talked about Bluffton council ordinance in years, passed on May 20.

Better known as the Bluffton sidewalk ordinance, it technically amends an earlier sidewalk ordinance 07-13. That earlier ordinance stated that sidewalks be constructed and maintained in "all" residential area of the village.

Lots of chrome, tail fins and classic cars on Main Street June 13

One of Bluffton's signature summer events - 47th Bluffton Lions Club Festival of Wheels Cruise-In takes place on Main Street Friday, June 14.

June 17 deadline to enter BFR 3v3 soccer tourney

BFR Sports and Fitness will hold a “Goals Galore” summer 3v3 soccer tournament on Saturday, June 28.

The single day tournament for teams at U8 through adult divisions (max. roster size of 5). A $75 fee is due by June 17; if space allows teams can be added after that day for $85 per team.

Small fields (60 ft x 40 ft) with small goals.

Registrations underway for BFR Aug. 30 5K event

Registrations are being accepted for the Saturday, Aug. 30, BFR Sports and Fitness Labor Day 5K Run or Walk, featuring a Pump and Run.

A PRINTER-FRIENDLY REGISTRATION FORM

The race course: begins and ends at Bluffton Family Recreation, 215 Snider Road, Bluffton. Click here for a course map.

Big Library Read" June 3-18

Millions of readers around the world are participating in the Big Library Read of the eBook "A Pedigree to Die For." The program runs June 3-18.

Fizz, Boom, Read summer storytime schedule at the Bluffton Public Library is in place. here's the storytime schedule for pre-schoolers (ages 3 to 5). Session are Mondays at 6:30 p.m. or Tuesdays at 10 a.m.

June 9-10: Space

July 7-8: Our senses
July 14-15: Weather and water
