The Bluffton University men's basketball team played host to Anderson University in a Heartland Conference tilt on Saturday, Jan. 18. After a disappointing lossat Earlham College on Wednesday night, the home team was looking to get back in the win column and they did just that by knocking off the Ravens, 81-71. Bluffton improved to 8-7 overall and 4-4 in the conference, while Anderson fell to 8-7 overall and 5-3 in the HCAC.
The Pandora United Methodist Church will be hosting a free Community Meal on Wednesday, Jan. 29, 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the church fellowship hall. The church is located at 108 E. Washington Street, Pandora.
The meal is provided by 7 o'clock Flock Small Group. The menu is tomato soup, grilled cheese sandwiches, relish tray, rocket brownies, and beverages.
SweetNotes is holding auditions now through Monday, Jan. 27, according to Vicki Mills.
SweetNotes, the women's division, of Noteworthy Community Choir, rehearses from Jan. 27 to March 16 with a March 19 evening performance and additional community performances.

The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) District 1 will hold a public meeting to share proposed safety improvements for the intersections of state Route 309 at both Thayer and Napoleon roads, east of Lima.
The meeting is at 6 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 22,in the cafeteria at Allen East Local High School, 9105 Harding Highway, Harrod.

Military Police Sergeant Chad R. Cupples will receive the Combat Action Badge from U.S. Rep. Jim Jordan in a ceremony at 2 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 23, at the Congressman’s office, 3121 W. Elm St., Lima.

Join Transition Bluffton and representatives from Ottawa and Bluffton for an informational meeting at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 21, on Bluffton’s water: where it comes from, how it’s treated and how it gets to Bluffton and our taps.
Douglas Schroeder, Water Director, Village of Ottawa and Russell Bates, Waste Water Director, Village of Ottawa, will describe the treatment process in Ottawa before the water is piped to Bluffton.
