Charles Kissling 1927-2015

Charles Sherman Kissling, 88, died Dec. 20, 2015, at 10:30 a.m., Mennonite Memorial Home, Bluffton. Charles was born Sept. 24, 1927 in McGuffey to Lacy and Ilo (Good) Kissling who preceded him in death. On Feb. 12, 1950 he married Marian Dirmeyer Kissling who survives.

Charles retired from the United Telephone Company where he was a lineman.  He was a member of the Pleasant View Church of the Brethren, Lima. He was a graduate of McGuffey High School.  He was a U.S. Navy veteran.

Annetta Dudgeon was a Cory-Rawson High School graduate

Annetta Kay Dudgeon, 77,  died Dec. 20, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Blanchard Valley Hospital, Findlay. 

Annetta was born August 31, 1938, in Bluffton to Lester and Helen (Dreisbach) Habegger who preceded her in death. On March 6, 1970 she married Larry Dudgeon who survives.

Annetta was a homemaker and had previously worked as a secretary at M&R Plumbing and Heating in Bluffton. She was a member of Pleasant View United Methodist Church, Mt. Cory.

Middle school collects 1,925 items for Bluffton food pantry

The Bluffton Middle School has been diligently collecting non-perishable items for the Bluffton Food Pantry since the start of November, according to Robin Ault, teacher working with the students in this project.

Their collections ended on Dec. 16 with a total of 1,925 items. Each grade was given the goal of 500 items and each grade met and exceeded this goal.

Ryan Aelker: Bluffton's first All-American since 1999

After four years of piling up sacks, tackles-for-losses and a host of records, senior Ryan Aelker (New Bavaria/Holgate) became the first Bluffton University football player to earn All-America honors since 1999.

Shaun O'Dell 1981-2015

Shaun Alan O'Dell, 34, died Dec. 19, 2015, at Lima Manor. Shaun was born July 26, 1981, in Bluffton to Gregory L. O’Dell and Barbara (Karhoff) Weber. 

Shaun enjoyed collecting coins, playing lottery tickets and watching the Food Network.  He enjoyed spending time with his ferrets and shopping especially for food.
