Garage sale season starts in 2 weekends

SHANNON Service Club and Bluffton Senior Citizens at the end of the month

Garage sale season arrives in Bluffton at the end of the month.

The community hosts two giant garage sales with the SHANNON Service Club’s two-day sale and Bluffton Senior Center’s three-day sale. Here are the details:

SHANNON Service Club sale
The sale is from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Friday, Feb. 28, and from 9 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Feb. 29, at The Centre, 601 N. Main St., Bluffton. This is the 17th annual club sale. The sale includes dozens of tables from vendors who will offer a large assortment of items.

Who turned on the lights?

Bluffton Family Recreation's basketball gym has a new set of LED lights installed and, there's a night and day difference. This photo demonstrates the amount of light that the gym now provides. A pickleball game is in progress when this photo was taken.

Daddys and daughters will dance the night away Saturday

Event at Bluffton Family Recreation

A daddy-daughter dance, Elsa's winter wonderland ball, takes place Saturday, Feb. 22, at Bluffton Family Recreation, 215 Snider Road.

Tickets are $20 per couple for members and $40 per couple for program participants. Each additional daughter is $5.

It's an evening of "Frozen" enchantment of music, dancing and other fun events. Girls may invite their father or a special role model. Call 419-358-4150 for reservations.

These are the first four programs on this spring’s OVAL classes at Bluffton Senior Citizens Center.

OVAL stands for “Our Version of Adult Learning” program, hosted by the Senior Center after Bluffton University stopped holding adult learning classes in 2018.

Bluffton face a nine-day layoff before tournament play starts

LIMA - Visiting Bluffton lost a 43-42 barnburner to Lima Central Catholic in a non-conference girls basketball contest Thursday night to end the regular season.

The close loss ended the Lady Pirate regular season record at 14-8 overall, while LCC improved to 12-9 with the win.

The game between the Allen County rivals was close all the way. LCC led 11-10 after a tight first period.
