There's bookin' it during "Celebrate the Library Week" at Musselman

The week of Feb. 10-14 was the first Celebrate the Library Week at Bluffton University’s Musselman Library.

On “Wellness Wednesday,” Feb. 12, Dr. Sarah Cecire, a professor of education, tried out a FitDesk, an exercise bike with an attached desk.

Meanwhile, Dr. Deborah Myers, a professor and director of Bluffton’s dietetics program, checked out Favorite READS, a display of books of particular importance or interest to individual faculty and staff members.

AC Health Department offering STI tests on Feb. 14

Allen County Public Health will have a special testing opportunity for individuals wanting to be tested for STI’s (Sexually Transmitted Infections) on Friday, February 14 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. This event will be held at the health department, located at 219 E. Market Street, Lima. This is a walk-in clinic. No appointment is needed.

This testing will be free for individuals ages 13-39. Individuals over 40 should call for special pricing. No one will be turned away for their inability to pay. Services will be available while testing supplies last.

Chamber now accepting arts and crafts show vendor registrations

Think spring for a moment.

The Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce is now accepting registrations from arts and crafts vendors for this year's 43rd annual Bluffton Arts and Crafts Show.

A REGISTRATION FORM AND INFORMATION SHEET ARE ATTACHMENTS AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS STORY.

This year's show, like last year, takes place on the Saturday before Mother's Day, May 10, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Main Street. Registrations submited by May 1 are $40 per booth. After May 1, the registration fee is $60 per booth.

Book ReViews book-signing event Saturday for Mike Lackey's "Spitballing: The Baseball Days of Long Bob Ewing"

Book ReViews, 123 S. Main St., will host a book-signing from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, with Mike Lackey, author of "Spitballing: The Baseball Days of Long Bob Ewing."

Lackey is a longtime newspaper reporter, editor and columnist. His book is a biography of a lifelong Auglaize County resident who pitched in the major leagues from 1902 to 1912. Ewing is a member of the Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame.
