Feb. 18 PaintINN invites your creativity to soar

Event includes an evening of art, appetizers, dessert and a glass of wine

The Inn at ONU, Ada,  invites you to embrace your inner artist in February by allowing your creativity to soar.

Here’s how:
Join the Inn’s February's PaintINN on Wednesday, Feb. 18, at 6 p.m.

Guests may arrive at 5:30 p.m. for an early start. This month’s art project is painting spring tags on wood and is led by Marilyn Reed, professional artist.

Around the World Be Mine wine and dine event Feb. 13

The Inn at ONU is taking reservations for its “Around the World Be Mine," wine and dine event next week.

The sampling is from 6:30 to 9 p.m., Saturday, Feb.. 13, at The Inn, 401 W. College Ave., Ada.

The evening includes a six-course meal paired with wines selected for the evening. 

Wine commentary will be provided during the evening by Diana Kerr Brown, an industry wine expert. Live music is also part of the event.

Wine will be available for purchase during the evening.

Bluffton host to NWC wrestling meet on Friday

Matches will be live-streams on school website

Bluffton High School will host this year’s Northwest Conference meet on Friday.

Eight schools will bring wrestlers and there will be junior high and high school competitions.

Jeff Kleman, Bluffton coach, told the Icon that the junior high wrestlers will compete in the old BHS gym. The high school competition takes place in the new gym.

“Bluffton will have seven or eight wrestlers competing,” said Kleman. He expects Allen East and Columbus Grove be in a competitive spot for the NWC trophy this year.

Tyler Black named vice-president of Ottawa River Coalition

The watershed weaves its way around Bluffton and Beaverdam from the south in Ada and includes Sugar Creek plus streams on the extreme northwestern portion of Allen County

Tyler Black of Bluffton, representing the Johnny Appleseed Metropolitan Park District, was elected vice-president of the Ottawa River Coalition during its recent annual meeting. This is his first term on the board.

Black said, “The Ottawa River Coalition plays an important role in watershed management and clean water.

“Something that I know, as vice-chair of the ORC and as a resident of Bluffton, means a great deal to everyone in the region.”
