St. John Mennonite Kid2Kid Camp underway

St. John Mennonite Church, Pandora, hosts a Kid2Kid Camps on Wednesdays this summer.

Camp days are June 15, June 29, July 20, July 27 and Aug. 3. A pool party will also take place.

The camp is for youth age 5 (by Oct. 1) through sixth grade. The camp theme is "Deep Sea Discovery, God is with me wherever I go!"

VBS July 10-14

The church vacation Bible school is from 6:30 to 8:45 p.m., Sunday to Thursday, July 10-14, at the church. All children age 5 by Aug. 1 through sixth grade may attend.

Pirate junior high volleyball open gym starts in July

Bluffton junior high volleyball has open gyms starting in July, according to Laura Green, coach.

Volleyball tryouts are Monday to Wednesday, Aug. 1 to 3. A team meeting is set for Thursday, Aug. 4.

Here's the May Bluffton police report

Bluffton police provided the may police docket to the Icon. The police reported 413 calls for service during May.

May 1

-Police arrested Chase Oler, 22, Findlay for OVI following a traffic stop on Jefferson St. for an equipment violation.

-Officers responded to a criminal damaging complaint at the university. 

-A Jefferson St resident reported his wallet was stolen while at a local park.

-Police arrested Taylor Richardson, 27, Bluffton, on an outstanding warrant from Hancock County.

BCDC car wash 11:30-2 p.m. June 21

Bluffton Child Development Center's school-age classroom will hold a car wash to raise money for summer activities.

The car wash is from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., Tuesday, June 21, at the Center located at 325 County Line Road, Bluffton.

Jamar Butler basketball camp July 16 at BFR

A Jamar Butler Basketball Camp takes place in July at Bluffton Family Recreation.

The camp is Saturday, July 16, at BFR, 215 Snider Road, Bluffton. Grades 1 to 4 sessions are from 9 a.m. to noon. Grades 5 to 8 sessions are from 1 to 4 p.m.

Butler is a former Lima Shawnee and Ohio State University basketball player.

Cost for the camp is $50 and registration includes a t-shirt. Campers should bring water bottles, a basketball and basketball shoes.
