Francis-Eikenbary wedding announcement

Chase Francis and Brett Eikenbary, both of Bluffton, were married on Saturday, Oct. 26, 2013, in Bluffton. Pastor David Plant officiated. The couple celebrated with family and friends in Findlay later that day.

The bride is the daughter of Bob and Vicky Francis of Rawson. She works for Governor John Kasich. The groom is the son of Larry and Valerie EIkenbary of Bluffton. He works for Grob Systems, Inc.

The newlyweds honeymooned in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. The Eikenbarys reside in Bluffton.

SHANNON Service Club garage sale Feb. 28-March 1

The SHANNON Service Club is getting ready for its late winter garage sale. This year's event is Friday and Saturday, Feb. 28 and March 1 at The Centre, according to Duane Bollenbacher.

A Harlan's chicken barbecue is Feb. 28 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. The garage sale is from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Feb. 28 and from 9 a.m. to noon on March 1. Call 419-358-7365 for details and watch the Icon for more information coming.

Boys' bball: It's Bluffton 74 - Allen East 49

Bluffton High School boys' basketball team throttled Allen East on Friday night in an NWC contest. Bluffton won 74-49.

Becky Boblitt and Ron Geiser inducted into university Sports Hall tonight

Two alumni and a former sports information director (SID) comprise the Bluffton University Athletics Hall of Fame class of 2013-14.

Becky (Reineke ’98) Boblitt has been selected for her achievements in basketball and soccer, while Bill Lape, a 1962 graduate, is being honored for his Bluffton football career. They will be inducted alongside Ron Geiser, who performed SID duties during parts of four decades, on Jan. 25 in Marbeck Center.

University forum: Reflecting on race after the Martin case

In recognition of the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., five Bluffton University faculty and staff members reflected Jan. 21 on the February 2012 death of Florida teenager Trayvon Martin; the trial of the accused killer, George Zimmerman; and how race still matters in America.
