The Allen County Fair opens Friday, Aug. 16, and continues through Saturday, Aug. 24. The fairgrounds is located at 2750 Harding Highway. Lima. Daily fair hours are 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Bluffton Child Development Center students turned into entrepreneurs on Tuesday. The students held a car wash and lemonade stand. Proceeds from their efforts go to a back-to-school party. Here's some views of the car wash attendants in action.

Free MMH event features ice cream and music, BYO chairs

The Al Best Band will play at a free public concert on Sunday, Aug. 18, at 6 p.m. at the Mennonite Memorial Home, 410 W. Elm St., Bluffton.
MMH has hosted the annual “Concert on the Lawn” since 2005. The Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio Service Group will serve ice cream, and popcorn and ice water will also be available.
Special thanks is given to Don Snyder Excavating, who is the main sponsor of this year’s concert. Those attending are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and dress for the weather.
