Pirates wear down Van Buren defense on the way to win number 2

For a half, the 2015 tilt between Bluffton and Van Buren looked oddly familiar to the 2014 edition.  Stormy weather was all around, big hits abounded and the score was low.

However, in the second half, Bluffton wore down the Knight defense and the Pirate running backs ran over, around and through the visitors for a 35-14 victory.  Bluffton moved to 2-0 on the season with the victory while Van Buren falls to 0-2.

Bluffton football fans watched a replay of the BHS vs. Van Buren football game on Friday night over WOSN, Time Warner. Here's how the broadcast booth appeared while the game was underway. The booth was located under the home stands.

Cemetery Commission will get community input through a survey

The Shannon Cemetery Commission, meeting Sept. 3, agreed to use a survey devised by one of its members to get a pulse of the community's views on the cemetery's future.

Harriet Moyer of the commission created the survey that was approved by the commission.

"This is an outreach attempt to look at other segments of the community," she said about the survey.

The survey is an attachment at the bottom of this story.

What's showing tonight at the Carma?
