If you think Bluffton parades are well attended today, look at this photo showing an early 1900s parade. The crowd is four people deep on one side and even more crowded on the other side.
We don’t know the purpose or exact year of this parade, however here are some observations.
The winner will soon watch a movie while eating a free pizza

You don’t have to be a movie expert to enter the Icon’s Golden Globe Awards contest.

“Locals” is a lost written art form. Bluffton has had its share of locals (short neighborhood news items), published for years in the Bluffton News.
Here’s how it worked: Imagine no internet (nor Facebook or every other conceivable social media), television, radio or even telephones.
We’ve now backed into the end of an earlier Bluffton century. Here we find Bluffton’s favorite source of information as its weekly newspaper. Local were a significant part of the paper, as you will soon discover.

Melina Meza, a senior at Bluffton HS, shares this snow photo with Icon viewers. "This photo was taken at my house on North Dixie Highway. You can find this little snow bunny on the edge of the porch. He sits there as a reminder of all the little rabbit footprints that can be seen in the snow around Bluffton," she said. Melina wins a Padrone's pizza in the Icon's snow photo contest. Watch the Icon for more snow submissions this week.
