Bring your lawn chairs - here's a map to know where to watch the fireworks

Where's the best place to watch tonight's fireworks? 
A PRINTER-FRIENDLY MAP IS AN ATTACHMENT AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS STORY.

There's plenty of room in:

• the Bluffton swimming pool grass area,
• on the east side of BFR and
• on the east side of the Buckeye.

• Spring Street will be blocked off at Riley Street.
• No parking is permitted on Snider Road.

Fireworks takes place at 9:30 p.m. and will last for approximately 20 minutes. For a printout of the fireworks map click here.

Sales tax holiday Aug. 7-9 benefits back-to-school purchases

S.B. 243 enacted a one-time sales tax holiday to occur only in 2015. The holiday starts on Friday, Aug. 7, and ends on Sunday, Aug. 9.

During the holiday, the following items are exempt from sales and use tax:
•An item of clothing priced at $75 or less
•An item of school supplies priced at $20 or less; and
•An item of school instructional material priced at $20 or less.

Items used in a trade or business are not exempt under the sales tax holiday.

State Representative Cupp in Bluffton Tuesday morning

State Representative Bob Cupp meet constituents in Bluffton at 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 4, in the Bluffton Public Library second floor meeting room.

Rep. Cupp will provide a brief update on legislative activity in the Ohio General Assembly during the past several weeks – including results of the 2016-2017 State Budget process. 

He will then be available to listen to public concerns and ideas regarding pending legislation or other topics that may be of interest to attendees.

Mt. Cory UMC Vacation Bible School Aug. 4-7

Members of the Mount Cory United Methodist Church are transforming the santuary for next week's Vacation Bible School, "Son Rise National Park."

Pre-registration will be Sunday, Aug. 2, at the Mount Cory Church, 300 N. Main, M at 6 p.m.  Bible School will run Aug 3 - 7 from 6 - 8 p.m. There will be a VBS program for the parents during the regular services on Sunday, Aug. 9, at 10:30 a.m. at the Church, followed by a Community Picnic at the BFLC following worship services.

Drop everything and plan to attend National Night Out at swimming pool - Tuesday

• Nashville Crush Trio performs from 8-9:30 p.m.
• Fireworks at 9:30 p.m.

Bluffton's second National Night Out is from 6 to 9 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 4, at the Bluffton Community Swimming Pool, according to Matt Oglesbee of the Bluffton police department.

The department, in conjunction with the Pandora Police Department are in charge of the event and the Bluffton, Beaverdam and Pandora fire and EMS departments will participate.
