Where's the fire!

Yesterday you saw the 1923 Studebaker fire truck from the rear - here's the view from the front. During Fire Prevention Week members of the Bluffton Fire Department provide rides to elementary students. Here's a look at one of those rides as the truck tooled south on Main.

Women's Soccer falls 3-0 to Anderson

BLUFFTON, Ohio - The Bluffton University women's soccer team was unable to find the back of the net in a 3-0 setback at the hands of Anderson University on Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2015. Bluffton fell to 4-7 overall and 0-2 in the Heartland Conference, while Anderson upped its season mark to 6-3 with a perfect 2-0 record in the HCAC.

Jared Krout joins BFR as sports coordinator

Jared Krout recently joined Bluffton Family Recreation as sports coordinator, according to Joseph Beagle, BFR director.

Krout is a 2006 graduate of Arlington High School and 2010 graduate of Hillsdale College. 

Following graduation, he served in several track and field coaching positions at Hillsdale. In 2014 he joined the Liberty-Benton High School track and field coaching staff. In 2015 he became the LB girls’ head coach, and the team won the state championship in its division.

Look what's on Bluffton Senior Citizens' October-November calendar

Preparations are underway for the Bluffton Senior Citizens Association 45th anniversary celebration planned for Thursday, Nov. 5. In the meantime, lots of other activities take place at the center during October and November.

Here’s a sampling:

• Doris Conrad, lifelong Bluffton resident, will be recognized during its October dinner meeting. Conrad turns 90 this month and will receive a life membership in the association. The dinner meeting is at 6 p.m., Monday, Oct. 12, at the center, 132 N. Main St.

NWPT offers free therapy screens during October

Northwest Physical Therapy, Inc. will offer free therapy screens to the public during the month of October. These screens will be available at all four outpatient locations in Delphos, Ottawa, Bluffton and Lima.

A physical therapy screening takes approx. 10-15 minutes and will be performed by a licensed clinician. A therapy screening helps identify issues that may be causing unnecessary pain.
